RCPsych CASC Practice - July 2025

Event Information

The RCPsych CASC Practice is a practical and intensive course, designed to support candidates in their preparation for the CASC examination. The event will take place in two parts, with the first part to take place online for an afternoon of learning, followed by part two, an in-person CASC Practice event with stations under exam conditions.

Things to note:

  • In order to register for the CASC Practice event, you must be able to attend the full duration of both the online event on 2 July and the in-person event on 4 July 2025.
  • The online event will not be recorded.
  • The full programme for the event will be shared with registered delegates only.

RCPsych CASC Practice Part one | Online | 2nd July 2025 - 1.00pm - 5.00pm 

During the half day online session, you will learn about the important elements of the CASC examination, watch CASC videos, complete marking in a small group and participate in analysis and discussion with peers and CASC examiners

  • Attendance to this event is required, the event will not be recorded.
  • The full programme for the event will be shared with registered delegates only.

RCPsych CASC Practice Part two | In person | 4 July 8.30am - 5.20pm

The full day practical course will cover a range of different CASC stations under exam conditions. Attendees will have the opportunity to practice and observe CASC stations focussing on the key techniques and skills required to pass the examination with individualised feedback from RCPsych CASC examiners. There will also be opportunities for peer feedback during the day.

Is this event suitable for me to attend?

The CASC practice course, is suitable for candidates looking to gain valuable experience of the CASC Exam. Completing stations under exam conditions and learning around the exam itself including marking and how to prepare.

Will the event give me experience of the CASC exam?

Attendees will be examined by RCPsych CASC Examiners, under exam conditions. The event is designed to give attendees as much experience as possible of the CASC exam. Candidates will be given 90 seconds of reading time before moving into the CASC station. There will also be times were candidates observe the station and complete marking. Feedback will be offered to candidates from peers and examiners on the day.

Do I have to attend both parts of the event?

Attendees need to complete both parts of this event. Those who register for the event need to be available to attend both sections of the event.

Should I attend the RCPsych CASC Practice event or the CASC Masterclass?

The CASC Practice course is designed for those looking to gain experience of CASC. If you are looking to retake the CASC Exam we would recommend attending the CASC Masterclass.

How will the online day (2 July) work?

This session takes place as a Zoom meeting. To access the meeting, we recommend . You can download this on any mobile device, tablet or on a Windows PC or Mac.

Will the online event be recorded (2 July)?

The online event, part one of this event will not be recorded. Attendees are expected to attend the online course live.

For the in-person event (4 July), will phones be allowed?

Attendees are advised that the main event room will be under exam conditions, mobile phones will not be permitted in this area.

Will refreshments be provided for the in-person part of the event (4 July)?

Refreshments will be offered during the event at specific break times, including a light lunch.
