What is this masterclass about?
The program will cover essential aspects for early intervention for psychosis in children and adolescents, including diagnostic criteria and epidemiology, comorbidity and prognosis. From an intervention perspective, both pharmacological management and psychosocial interventions will be discussed.
Prevention of psychosis and clinical high-risk for psychosis paradigm will also be discussed among other special populations.
Delegates will have the opportunity to present clinical scenarios from their caseload throughout the day.
This masterclass will be delivered by two clinical academics from the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King’s College London, who specialise in psychosis.

Speaker biographies
Dr Maria Rogdaki is a Clinical Lecturer at the Department of Psychosis Studies at King’s College London and a Post-doctoral Clinical Fellow at the Francis Crick Institute. She also works as an Honorary Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. She holds a post-graduate MSc in Neuroscience from the University of Crete in Greece and PhD from Imperial College London.
Her work has been published in prestigious journals and attracted important awards, including the MRC special award (2016), the Society of Biological Psychiatry Predoctoral Travel Fellowship (2018), the Robert Kerwin International Bursary (2021), the Summer Meeting Poster Prize (2021), and more recently Child Psychiatry Research Society Publication Prize (2023).
Her current research focuses on how genetic factors confer risk for neurodevelopmental disorders such as schizophrenia and ASD, using translational multiscale approaches.
Dr Gonzalo Salazar de Pablo is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College London. He also works as an honorary Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
Gonzalo holds an international PhD (“Cum Laude”) and six MSc in Psychiatric Treatments for Children and Adolescents, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, Integrative Psychotherapy, Legal and Forensic Psychiatry, Research in Mental Health and Quality and Patient Safety.
He has published over 85 academic papers and presented at over 40 certified mental health symposiums and conferences.
He has received several prizes including the Emerging Researcher prize by the Spanish Society of Biological Psychiatry, the best scientific paper Alicia Koplowitz award and the 2023 Research Prize in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the European Psychiatry Association.
Gonzalo is in the Board of Directors of the Spanish Society of Psychiatry and Mental Health and he is one of the joint editors of CAMH.
