
Jessica Barrett
Research Fellow
Jessica began working at the NCCMH in 2016 as a lead researcher and developer, working on several projects and collaboratives, such as The Community Mental Health Framework for Adults and Older Adults, Sexual Safety Collaborative, and the Self-harm and Suicide Prevention Competence Framework.
After a period pursuing independent projects, Jessica returned to the NCCMH in 2024 as a research fellow. Her work is primarily centred around completing systematic reviews on a range of mental health and public mental health topics, among other bodies of work.
Jessica has a passion for addressing inequalities in mental health and social care, particularly inequalities faced by minoritised ethnic groups/communities, and previously acted as the social care lead for the NCCMH team. Research areas that interest Jessica include mental health service delivery, suicide prevention and mental health outcomes in educational settings.
