I am a member of the ID Faculty Executive Committee and Chair of the ID Faculty in Scotland.

I am the Consultant Psychiatrist for the High Secure Intellectual Disability Service for Scotland and N Ireland, based at The State Hospital, Carstairs. I am also the Forensic Network Clinical Lead for Intellectual Disability and Autism.

I have published and presented on situational risk factors for violence in institutional settings, including on the impact on clinical staff due to violence in care settings.
