RCPsych Wales are pleased to announce the third annual Summer School for students interested in a career in a medical, or mental health-related career.
The two-day event is a great opportunity for participants to learn more about working in this field and provides them with an insight into a variety of healthcare professions as well as the policy-making associated with them.
Whilst the format does vary slightly from year to year, day one showcases talks from professionals across medical specialities, as well as from researchers and medical students. Giving students an insight into the variety of healthcare professions.
Day two is based in the Senedd, where students will have the opportunity to meet Members of Senedd, tour the building, and learn about how healthcare professionals can and do shape government policy.
The summer school is a great opportunity for students to explore the breadth of healthcare careers and gain more of an insight into what they may wish to study in the future.
One previous attendee remarked:
"It was so interesting to meet such a wide variety of people and learn about mental health from many perspectives."
It is open to year 11 students from across Wales and we are currently still taking applications. Please visit the web page for more information.
The next summer school will take place on the 8-9 July 2025.
